Sharepoint branding and implementation

Planning to move from a file server or shared disk to SharePoint? Or looking for a partner to redesign SharePoint for you? Then get in touch. We have extensive experience with OneDrive and SharePoint implementations from A to Z.

SharePoint look and feel: corporate websites

Our first Microsoft SharePoint experience goes back to late 2006. Ferranti Computer Systems asked us if we weren’t interested in working with the beta version of MOSS 2007. Since we do like a challenge, we said a resounding yes to this. And it became a success. Ferranti was the first Belgian company to launch a corporate website running on Sharepoint in January 2007, and this without you being able to see that it was Sharepoint. This project was followed up in other projects such as that of Tuc Rail (www.tucrail.be) and Mecoms (www.mecoms.com). That’s pretty much where it ended. SharePoint was soon trumped by real content management systems such as Drupal and WordPress in the Open Source world or Magento (Adobe) and Hubspot..

SharePoint intranet design

So our focus has evolved to SharePoint communication sites and SharePoint team sites. Collaborate, inform, share data, … intranet reinvented. Our experience is in the following areas:

  • SharePoint setup (global administrator)
  • Scope and look & feel – workshops with key users
  • Implementation of subsites
  • Security – advanced permissions on document libraries, lists, …
  • Archiving
  • Advanced search (via Power Automate)
  • OneDrive syncing
  • SharePoint training
  • Copilot Studio Generative AI SharePoint bot

Examples include Azelis (out of the box functions), D’Ieteren (opening up different databases via intranet), Praxis (data sharing with customers), Pipelink (rebranding and setup) and Anima (from fileserver to SharePoint).

SharePoint branding: our task

What do we do and what don’t we do is, of course, the crucial question. The following things we do:

  • Functional analysis
  • Design look & feel
  • Setup
  • Implementation
  • Training

What we don’t do: interfere with code. All the features we use are standard features, SharePoint Out-of-the-box. Occasionally we do use Power Automate to setup workflows or Powershell to adjust things under the hood, think about changing the URL after a rebranding.

When companies are looking for digital support, they are often advised to go for a full-blown digital transformation. However, that is not always necessary. Continuously improving and fine-tuning systems also works. And above all, ensuring employees are using the available tools properly and efficiently. Providing your SharePoint and OneDrive with a new information architecture , or updating Microsoft Office templates is often already a big leap forward.
